...Says peace, unity imperative for development
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebrate which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Aribasoye in a press statement noted the significance of the celebration as a time for spiritual reflection, urging Muslims to take lessons from the Prophet’s valuable teachings, particularly the virtues of compassion, humility, tolerance and service to humanity.
The Ekiti assembly helmsman who enjoined Muslim faithful among his constituents and Ekiti people in general to always promote peace, stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and unity among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
Aribasoye noted that these values remain essential for sustained peace and development of Ekiti State.
He commended the Muslim community in the State for its contributions to the growth and progress of Ekiti, while encouraging the faithful to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, extend kindness to the less privileged and promote harmony within their communities.
The Speaker equally called on the people of Ekiti State to continue supporting the Oyebanji administration in its efforts to build a peaceful state, promote unity and ensure shared prosperity.
He also encouraged massive participation in the elections ahead in Nigeria noting that people should not trivialise the exercise of their franchise.
The lawmaker assured that the House of Assembly would remain committed to legislation and initiatives that promote the welfare and security of all residents.
