EKITI SPEAKER DRUMS SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR OYEBANJI

...honoured in country home, Odo Ayedun

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, over the weekend, at his country home, drummed support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration, emphasizing the need to sustain the good works of the regime.

Aribasoye described the Governor as a performer who deserved the support of the people of Odo Ayedun Ekiti and Ikole Constituency II in general, adding that Ekiti state would ultimately benefit if the people gave maximum cooperation and support to the governor.

These remarks were part of his address at an event where he was honoured by Odo Ayedun Progressive International for being an illustrious, exemplary, and outstanding son of the town.

The Speaker was honoured alongside other distinguished indigenes for their positive contributions to the development and upliftment of Odo Ayedun Community.

During his speech, Aribasoye highlighted several notable projects being undertaken by the Oyebanji administration, assuring the community that another term for the Governor would mean more creativity, performance, and unparalleled development for the state.

He thanked the organizers for the initiative and reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of both the community and the state at large.

 Rt. Hon. Aribasoye urged the organizers to incorporate secondary school students and young people from the town into future editions of the event while also encouraging the youth to think outside the box by engaging in entrepreneurial ventures and pursuing professional courses while seeking admission into universities.

The Ekiti assembly helmsman also promised that more development projects would be executed in the town with the support of the federal lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, Hon. Akin Rotimi, and other well-meaning indigenes.

The event, which took place at the Palace of  Owa Odo Ayedun Ekiti, Oba Ilesanmi Ajibade, was attended by several distinguished figures.

A prominent member of the organising team, Mrs. Modupe Johnson, while welcoming the honorees, described the ceremony as an opportunity to recognize extraordinary individuals who have made significant contributions to the community.

In his remarks, another indigene, Professor Emmanuel Adeyeye, a global award winner in the academic world, congratulated the honorees and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.

He noted that the town has always been proud of their accomplishments in various strategic positions.

In his address, Oba Ajibade, the Owa Odo Ayedun, who was also an awardee, expressed his excitement about the development witnessed in the town,  commending the organizers for setting a high standard for other progressive groups and associations to follow.

The Speaker was also conferred with the title of 'Omo Ayiye' of Odo Ayedun (a well distinguished son)  by the Owa Odo Ayedun, through the women leader in the town, High Chief (Mrs.) Grace Ajayi.

Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, accompanied by some political aides, was joined by members of the seventh assembly, including Hon. Tope Longe, Hon. Ademola Ojo, Hon. Lateef Oluwole Akanle, and Hon. Idowu Odebunmi with his spouse who stood in for spouses of lawmakers.

The event was graced by Dr. Olaiya Ojo from Bowen University, the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, traditional rulers, chiefs, political office holders, and ward executives, among others.
